Lakeside Water Offer Bespoke Classroom and Home Learning Training to meet your companies needs provided by qualified and friendly trainers.
General Awareness Training: Legionella
The course is designed to provide a basic theoretical introduction to the legal requirements of ensuring water systems are suitably managed along with the background of the disease and the bacteria, allowing a full understanding of the necessary management and maintenance of the domestic and process water system (excluding cooling towers) in line with current guidance and legislation. The course can be tailored to individual requirements by agreement ahead of the course.
The course is designed for all individuals who are involved in the management and control of legionellosis within their organisation and there is no requirement to have any previous training or knowledge to undertake this course.
Course Syllabus:
- History
- Law, Guidance and legislation overview
- Legionella Bacteria
- Legionnaires Disease
- Control measures - minimising the risk from domestic water systems and other systems (excluding Cooling towers)
- Risk assessment process
- Record keeping - PPMs and log books
Training courses are offered to a group size of up to 6 individuals if delivered at Lakeside Head offices or a group size of up to 10 individuals if delivered at suitable client locations, there is also an option to deliver the course via Microsoft teams for a group size of up to 10 individuals to support requirements for social distancing during COVID 19
The course is designed to take 4 hours with a 20-minute coffee / screen break throughout.
The course will end with a 20-minute exam and successful candidates will be issued with certification within 10 days of course completion. Courses are delivered on a pass/fail basis (70% pass mark)
RP Training (Healthcare):
The responsible person course is designed to provide a more in-depth knowledge of the legislative requirements and consequences of ensuring water systems are suitably managed along with details of the roles and responsibilities of the RP job, the difference between training and competence and how to determine if somebody is able to suitably carry out their tasks, the role of the water safety group within healthcare environments and what to expect if a regulator should attend your properties, allowing a full understanding of the necessary management and maintenance of the domestic and process water system (excluding cooling towers) in line with current guidance and legislation. The course can be tailored to individual requirements by agreement ahead of the course.
The course is designed for individuals who are involved in the management and control of legionellosis within their organisation and require more in-depth knowledge than a basic awareness in order to fulfil their duties correctly. This course is designed for individuals who have already completed a basic general awareness course and have day to day experience of tasks and duties within legionella management.
